Who’s That Girl?

Hi there! I’m Ashlee, and if I had things my way, I would be crafting, creating, cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, and making… twenty-four seven. Sadly I have to work like most folks, so I try to squeeze in a little making as often as possible. Otherwise, I’m a bit cranky. You know how it is :)

I have been a big supporter of DIY for as long as I can remember – my first attempt being a DIY haircut at the tender age of four. I have learned a lot since then – namely the importance of having a great hairstylist – but my love for everything handmade and handcrafted has only grown stronger over the years.

Having been born and raised on the Canadian Prairies, I quickly developed an appreciation for warm, cozy clothing and accessories. I have a ridiculous collection of scarves and hats that seems to continue to grow despite my best efforts to downsize. I live in a cozy home with lots of DIY touches with my steadfast sidekick Zephyr (one feisty black cat).

I have a penchant for scattering various half-finished knit, sewing, crochet and crafting projects all over the house… I like to refer to it as creative clutter.

I spend a lot of time on Ravelry, Pinterest, and drooling over sewing patterns, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because my shift work job has me sitting at a desk for 10 hours a day, I like to be active in my spare time. I play volleyball, soccer, weight train, and hit the yoga mat often.

If my nose isn’t buried in a book or I’m not playing Scrabble, I can most certainly be found sitting in front of my vintage Viking, Kenmore, Singer, or serger, reminding myself to “sit up straight”.

I love Oxford commas.
